California
63% of State Aid in the spring is deferred to July and August.
* State Aid = General Purpose Block Grant, Categorical Block Grant, and Economic Impact Aid.
DEFERRALS ARE LONG TERM.

"Unfortunately, the new budget proposal confirms that deferrals are certain to be part of the State budget for many years to come. There’s no question that many school districts and charter schools will face a huge cash deficiency every spring. If they don’t figure out quickly how to manage through the upcoming drought, they’ll be forced to cut programs and staff."
